Child Advocates is an umbrella organization housing a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, a Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and a supervised visitation program called Connections for Kids. We opened our doors to the first child in the CAC in October 2002 and CASA saw its first child in 2003.
Child Advocates employs a full-time Executive Director who splits her time between the CAC and CASA programs. The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Directors and reports directly to them.
The CAC staff is comprised of three full time staff members, the Program Coordinator/Lead Forensic Interviewer, the Family Advocate/MEP Coordinator and the Director of Clinical Services; and two part-time staff members, a Counseling Intern (LPC-I) and an evening receptionist.
The CASA staff is comprised of one full time Program Coordinator/Volunteer Advocate Supervisor and one part-time Volunteer Advocate Supervisor. There are currently 25 active volunteers in the CASA program.
The Connections for Kids program supervises visitations between children and non-custodial parents that a court has ordered be supervised by a third party. Generally visits occur during evening hours.
